SHAH ALAM: Popular singers Hazami and Rahmad Tohak of rock band Mega are battling it out at the finals of TV3 reality talent show Terpaling Juara's finals at 9pm tonight.
In the two-hour concert co-hosted by Shiha Zikir and Haziq Hussni and broadcast live from Sri Pentas 2 in Plaza Alam Sentral here, Hazami and Rahmad will battle it out with two newcomers Shazreen Shaharum, 26 and Aqmal Ramadan, 25.
Shazreen and Rahmad are under "Captain" Hael Husaini Razmi's team while Hazami is under "Captain" Akim Ahmad and Aqmal is under "Captain" Naim Daniel.
Each contestant will sing one solo number and one duet with his or her "Captain" and the top winner will receive a trophy and RM100,000.
The second-placed contestant will receive RM50,000 and the third will get RM30,000.
With veteran rock singer and actor Datuk Hattan and veteran singer-actress Fauziah Latiff as the permanent judges, the two-hour reality show began broadcasting on Aug 21, and it sees three established singers serve as "Captains" of their respective teams. Each "Captain" has two "proteges" comprising a veteran singer and a newcomer.
The "proteges", one of whom gets eliminated after scoring the lowest weekly marks determined by the judges, are required to perform the hit songs from the Anugerah Juara Lagu (AJL) music awards show's playlist.
