KUALA LUMPUR: Pop queen Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza has just met one of her favourite television stars from the United Kingdom, and described the experience as a "beautiful delight".
The 43-year-old singer and entrepreneur met British celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay at a special dinner in his Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill in Sunway Pyramid, Bandar Sunway, Subang Jaya, Selangor yesterday.
However, just as they met outside Ramsay's restaurant, Siti's handphone started to "hang", depriving her of a chance to take a selfie with the British chef.
"I had a great night with Master Chef Gordon Ramsay. But unfortunately my handphone started to 'hang'," said Siti in the caption to an Instagram photo of herself posing outside the restaurant with her businessman husband, Datuk Seri Khalid Jiwa.
Fortunately for Siti, a viral video was promptly uploaded on TikTok by one of her fans. It showed her and Khalid meeting and greeting Ramsay, 56, and she appeared to be speechless and stunned for a split second.
Netizens were delighted that Siti and Ramsay finally met in Malaysia, and many of them hoped that she would one day appear in his cookery shows.
Ramsay made a surprise visit to his Bandar Sunway restaurant yesterday, to meet and check up on his Malaysian chefs.
He subsequently mingled with invited guests, including Siti, Khalid and model-actress Amber Chia.
Ramsay's restaurant opened on June 18.
