#Showbiz: Doctors say bariatric surgery not main cause of Rohana Jalil's passing, says husband

KUALA LUMPUR: Rohana Jalil's husband Jahangir Khan says that according to doctors, the bariatric surgery was not the root cause of the singer's ailment which led to her untimely passing.

The 66-year-old surviving widower of the late veteran singer only recently learnt about the treatment Rohana had undergone two years ago.

"Maybe it could be related (to the procedure), but doctors had said otherwise," he told Harian Metro.

Even Rohana, he added, missed other health flags because she ignored the symptoms she was experiencing at first because she blamed them on the surgery.

Jahangir, who was speaking to reporters after his wife's funeral yesterday, added that Rohana was subsequently diagnosed with intestinal perforation, which led to infection and sepsis.

Rohana, born Dara Abdul Jalil, died at 11.34pm on Tuesday due to intestinal perforation complications. She was 68.

She was laid to rest at USJ21 Muslim Cemetery at 11.45am yesterday.
