KUALA LUMPUR: Singer Shila Amzah, 33, and social media influencer, Ubai Mz, 25, tied the knot at Boathouse Ampang, here, at 10.27am this morning.
During the nikah ceremony, with one lafaz, the couple officially became husband and wife in the presence of the bride's father, popular 1980s-era singer Datuk ND Lala, and Ustaz Hai Mohamad Khairi Hussein.
Shila, whose real name is Nurshahila Amir Hamzah, received a dowry of RM20,000 from Ubai, while the hantaran was not disclosed.
The Patah Seribu and Masih Aku Cinta hitmaker said that she was grateful to be Ubai's wife now.
"Alhamdulillah, thank God for the smooth sailing of the wedding ceremony this morning. We hope that this marriage will be an eternal bond blessed by God.
"I am relieved that after going through the engagement phase on May 27, we are now united as husband and wife in front of our closest family members and dear friends.
"What is most important is that we can take care of our child, Seth Uwais, with love," she said in a news report today.
Ubai, whose real name is Muhammad Ubaidillah Mohd Zulkefli, expressed his readiness to take on the responsibilities of a husband and father.
"God willing, I am ready and will be the best husband and father to Shila and Seth. Pray for our marriage bond to continue to blossom and last until the end of our lives," he said.
Regarding their honeymoon plans, Ubai mentioned that they have not made any decisions yet due to their busy work commitments.
"Due to time constraints, work, and managing personal family matters, we haven't chosen a honeymoon location yet. However, we may take a short holiday in the country first," he said.
Also present during the wedding ceremony were fellow artistes such as Fara Fauzana, Zara Zya, Marsha Milan, Amylea, Jihan Muse, Jaclyn Victor and Haziq Hussni.
Two receptions are expected to be held in a modest fashion later involving family members, artistes and partners from various countries.
The couple organised an engagement ceremony on May 27.
Shila previously married Haris Idraki Elias in April 2018, but the marriage did not last as they divorced in February 2022.
As a result of the marriage, Shila was blessed with a son, Seth Uwais who is now four.
