#Showbiz: Putri Ariani finishes fourth in 'America's Got Talent', earns Cowell's praise

KUALA LUMPUR: America's Got Talent's (AGT) most watched contestant, Indonesian super singer Putri Ariani may only have finished fourth but she is a winner in the chief judge's eyes.

AGT Season 18's no-nonsense chief judge Simon Cowell and fellow judges Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara and Howie Mandel gave the blind 17-year-old a standing ovation after she delivered a moving version of Sir Elton John's hit song Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me at the show's final concert held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, California, the United States yesterday.

"We cannot deny that you are an extraordinary singer and an extraordinary person. But at the end of the day, this is a contest," said Cowell to Putri Ariani.

In her subsequent Instagram post, Putri Ariani thanked Cowell and the AGT team for making her dreams come true.

"Thank you so much Simon and the AGT team for this most wonderful and unforgettable moment in my life," she said.

The contest was won by talented acrobat Adrian Stoica and his canine partner Hurricane.

The acrobat and his pet won US$1 million (RM4.7 million) and a chance to perform in AGT Presents Superstars Live which will be held at the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas for a month beginning today.
