#Showbiz: A Aida accepts court decision on compensation reduction for Amelia Henderson

KUALA LUMPUR: Drama producer Datuk A Aida has accepted in good faith the decision of the High Court, which reduced the amount of compensation to be paid to her company A Aida Production Sdn Bhd by actress Amelia Henderson.

Aida said in an interview with Harian Metro Online today that she would discuss the possibility of appealing against the decision with her lawyer later.

The High Court today allowed Amelia's appeal to set aside the RM200,000 compensation demanded by A Aida Production for breach of contract involving a drama series last year.

"Even though the sum has been reduced to RM10,000, I accept the court's decision in good faith. What is important is that the court recognised that there was a breach of contract and that contracts are to be honoured."

The High Court ordered 28-year-old Amelia to pay RM10,000 to Aida within 14 days, as well as five per cent interest beginning today.

Amelia had earlier filed an appeal to set aside the Sessions Court's April 18 decision that she pay RM200,000 compensation to A Aida Production for breach of contract involving the drama series Sekali Lagi Cinta Kembali.
