KUALA LUMPUR: Evergreen singer Ziana Zain is set to celebrate 33 years in music with a major solo concert next May 25.
The Ziana Zain Concert 2024 will take place at Mega Star Arena, Sungei Wang Plaza at 8.30pm, and for the first time, 56-year-old Ziana's three-hour extravaganza will be produced by her brother Anuar Zain.
Anuar Zain Network Sdn Bhd will produce the concert with her own company Ziana Zain Network Sdn Bhd as co-producer and Altus ProHouse as concert manager.
Financial education institution CSA Academy is the main sponsor of the concert which will see Ziana perform 20 to 30 of her greatest hits, as solo numbers or medleys.
The concert is Ziana's first solo concert in 22 years, her last one being Ziana Zain In The Park at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (then known as the Putra World Trade Centre) in 2001.
Besides roping in Anuar as producer, Ziana is collaborating with acclaimed music director Aubrey Suwito and concert director Jennifer Thompson in the one-night-only concert.
"I thoroughly enjoyed Anuar's Shah Alam concert, which was attended by some 8,000 fans from around the country. Mega Star Arena has a maximum seating capacity of 5,000 people.
"I'm confident that fans will come in full force to be entertained with my greatest hits, some of which will be given brand new arrangements courtesy of Aubrey," said Ziana at the launch of her concert in the Kuala Lumpur Tower today.
She added: "I aim for more than just hosting a concert and delivering songs to the audience, I want the delightful impact and cherished memories to resonate with my fans who have supported me all these years."
Ziana said that each performance was specially crafted to hold a distinctive quality that could serve as a benchmark for the future.
Anuar said that beginning this year, he had chosen to diversify into producing and organising concerts for well-known Malaysian artistes.
"Charity begins at home, and for that reason, I've decided to organise one for my elder sister and soul mate first and foremost," he said, adding that he would not be her guest artiste for the evening.
"We haven't decided on guest artistes as yet, but closer to the date we might reveal a name or two."
