KUALA LUMPUR: Celebrity couple and entrepreneurs Aeril Zafrel and Wawa Zainal paid a corporate zakat of RM1.015 million to the Selangor Zakat Board (LZS).
Aeril, 35 said the amount paid represents their business earnings for the current year.
"Alhamdulillah, this is an obligation that needs to be fulfilled. We are grateful for the blessings and sustenance that never cease from Allah SWT.
"This is also thanks to the unwavering support from all parties and our loyal customers. Hopefully 2024 and the subsequent years will be even better for all of us," he said.
He hoped that the zakat contributed could assist those in need.
"God willing, there is also a blessing for others. Hopefully, this can help those in need. I believe LZS is the best agency for managing this matter.
"May this effort be a starting point and motivator for others as well. Believe me, those who give charity in the way of Allah are never impoverished," he said.
Last year, Aeril Zafrel received recognition from LZS for making Zakat payments exceeding RM50,000.
