KUALA LUMPUR: Singer-songwriter Sam Tsui has always been a fan-favourite in Malaysia, doing covers and musical medleys on YouTube.
Sam and longtime friend Casey Breves recently shared a TikTok clip of themselves singing Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza's hit song Bukan Cinta Biasa to the delight of Malaysian fans.
Sam wrote: "Representing Malaysia, it is our attempt at Bukan Cinta Biasa by Siti Nurhaliza.
"Malaysia is number 73 on our list of 195 countries with songs we want to cover."
In the video, Sam and Casey sang the chorus to the iconic song and it appeared obvious that they did their homework before attempting the cover.
Their pronunciation of the Malay lyrics were crisp, clear and accurate; and their voices sounded great.
Bukan Cinta Biasa was composed by Dewiq of Indonesia and written by Siti. It was part of her 2003 album EMAS.
The song won Most Popular Song at Anugerah Planet Muzik 2004 andBest Music Arrangement In A Song at Anugerah Industri Muzik 2004.
