#Showbiz: Beckham meets and greets more than 2,000 shoppers at The Exchange

KUALA LUMPUR: United Kingdom football legend David Beckham, 48, made a brief, two-hour appearance at The Exchange TRX today, greeting some 2,000 lucky shoppers with a warm and radiant smile.

"Thank you so much, Kuala Lumpur. I'm so happy to be here today," said Beckham who was dressed in a black shirt and grey trousers as he waved to fans gathered at the ground floor of the shopping centre.



Beckham, who formerly played for Manchester United and captained the English national football team, was at The Exchange from 1pm to 2pm to officiate the World of the Predator Exhibition for sportswear giant Adidas, and the event was at Adidas' shop on Level 2.

Radio station Fly FM captured Beckham's visit on a brief Instagram video which contained the caption: "David Beckham is at The Exchange TRX! Those who are looking at Beckham right now, you are so lucky!"



Earlier at 10am, Beckham paid a visit to the Royal Bukit Kiara Sports Club in Bukit Kiara to officiate the Adidas Malaysian Girls' Football Programme.

The radio station also uploaded an Instagram video of Beckham's visit to the sports club with the caption: "Lucky to be able to pass the ball with @davidbeckham. International football legend David Beckham attended a launch event at the Royal Bukit Kiara Sports Club this morning for the Adidas Malaysian Girls' Football Programme."

National striker Safee Sali was honoured to meet Beckham at the programme, and uploaded a selfie of their meeting on his TikTok account.

Beckham, who is dubbed a trend-setting personality with an innate sense of style on and off the football pitch, has over 86 million Instagram followers.

Yesterday, the Manchester United legend sent fans into a frenzy by sharing a photo of himself against the dazzling backdrop of the Petronas Twin Towers.

"I mean wow what a view, what a city," Beckham wrote, with an emoticon of the Malaysian flag.
