#Showbiz: Keep your distance from married men, ladies — Ika Nabella

KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Ika Nabella Abdul Rahim, 35, advises women to "keep their distance" from married men lest they end up being labelled as "home-wreckers".

"Ladies, it is always best to befriend single men instead of married men. Not that we cannot be friends with the latter but we should be mindful not to end up as the persons blamed for wrecking their marriages," said Ika in a recent news report.

Ika also advised women to resist advances by married men, be they co-stars in films and dramas, or co-workers in the same company.

"We must be wise, but polite at the same time. If they get too close to you, just politely tell them that you are not keen on any relationship," she said.

"Always be mindful of their wives and how hurt they will be if you have a relationship behind their backs."

Ika added that it was important for married couples to constantly communicate and spend quality time with each other.

"A happy marriage is one based on trust and transparency. Married couples must not keep secrets and always be open and honest with each other."

Ika, who was discovered in Astro reality talent show Akademi Fantasia 6 and subsequently became an actress, has been happily married to entrepreneur Muhammad Zayn Aznam since 2016.

They have a five-year-old son Noah Zayn, and she is also an entrepreneur who runs a health foods and beauty products company.

Ika's advice to women comes hot on the heels of her fellow actress Ruhainies Zainul Ilyas' recent arrest with Singaporean singer and actor Aliff Aziz for alleged khalwat in a condominium in the federal capital.

Ruhainies and Aliff were co-starring in a drama series when the incident happened last Saturday.
