KUALA LUMPUR: Bella Astillah was surprised by the decision of her husband, Aliff Aziz, who said no to divorce her as he claimed he still loved his family.
Bella thought that their domestic turmoil would be resolved at the Federal Territories Syariah Court here, today.
"I'm just tired and didn't expect this decision to be made. I thought everything would be settled today.
"Who doesn't love their family? No one gets married to get divorced.
"This is my second time coming to court, think I like going to and from the court?
"Divorce is the thing I fear the most, that's why I defended my marriage for years. But I feel it's been enough of me defending all of this," she said in a Harian Metro report today.
She was met by reporters after the proceedings for the second mention of her divorce case at the Federal Territories Syariah Court.
When asked about her previous decision to choose to forgive Aliff despite having been cheated on by him several times, Bella said that everyone has their limits and the door to forgiveness is always open.
"Every individual has their limits. As long as I'm able, I'll forgive even if someone says I'm stupid with the decision to defend the family.
"If it's true that Alif still loves the marriage, the children, and me, then why did he expose my shame when I had wanted to keep that story a secret till the day I die?" she said.
Bella and Aliff tied the knot on Sept 9, 2016, but divorced on May 16, 2019. They then reconciled during the edah period.
The couple are blessed with two children, namely Mohamad Ayden Adrean, 7, and Ara Adreanna, 4.
