#Showbiz: Marissa Dania admits mistake and apologises for marriage fiasco

KUALA LUMPUR: "I apologise for hurting the hearts of many including my family."

That's what the 19-year-old daughter of the celebrity couple Abby Abadi and Norman Hakim, Marissa Dania Hakim, of her decision to secretly wed a married man known as Aslam in December last year.

According to a Harian Metro report, Marissa said that she also apologised to all parties for taking a long time to open up about her controversial marriage with Aslam.

"I don't want to avoid it or run away, instead I want to protect the good name of my family and all the parties involved.

"This is the path that Aslam and I have chosen (polygamous life). So I ask for everyone to please give us space to solve our domestic problems without outside interference.

"God willing, everything will be fine. I will strive in that direction and pray that everything goes smoothly," she said in the news report today.

Asked about Aslam's relationship with her family members, Marissa said she was grateful for their forgiveness and acceptance of Aslam.

"I admit that our marriage was opposed by my family. No parent would agree with this kind of choice, especially at my young age.

"Aslam and I don't want our family relationship to be broken or riddled with problems. So we strengthen our spirit and go through it together.

"No matter what obstacles we may face, Aslam and I will try to solve the problems that occur one by one," she said.

However, Marissa refused to touch on or provide any comment about her relationship with Aslam's first wife, Umisya Mazlan.

She only said: "Pray that everything will be fine for both of us."
