KUALA LUMPUR: While she has no problems working with Aliff Aziz, Ummi Nazeera has chosen not to appear in his dramas for now.
In an interview with Berita Harian yesterday, Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa star Ummi said that their current drama series Dia Dari Syurga on TV1 would be their last together.
"I'm afraid to say that I've chosen to turn down co-starring roles with Aliff even though I admire him as a talented, disciplined, and hard-working actor," she said.
Ummi however denied that her decision was related to Aliff's March 8 arrest for khalwat with actress Ruhainies Zainul Ilyas.
"It's got nothing to do with his personal matters. He is a great actor, but I don't think I've got good chemistry with him," said Ummi.
Ummi added that she preferred to star with actors whom she was close friends with as they understood certain rules she adhered to such as avoiding body contact.
Ummi also wished Singaporean singer-actor Aliff all the best in his future projects and prayed that he would overcome his difficulties and get closer to his loved ones.
