#HEALTH: MMA organising career guidance conference for students

THE Malaysian Medical Association (MMA), as part of a corporate social responsibility initiative, is organising the second edition of its Career Guidance Conference (CGC).

The conference will take place at G Hotel, Georgetown, Penang from May 11-12.

Themed "Empowering Our Future", the conference aims to guide students in making a more informed decision when choosing a career. As many as 21 prominent speakers from various fields, 15 professional organisations as well as universities and colleges will be participating in the CGC. "This conference is being organised to educate students and their parents on the various career options available, as well as to provide insights into the real-life challenges inherent in each profession. Many among the current generation in our workforce have expectations that are not aligned with the realities of work life," says MMA president Dr Azizan Abdul Aziz.

This issue is not confined to healthcare, it happens in other sectors as well she notes, underlining the need for informed decision-making in career choices.

Prominent and experienced speakers have been invited to address the above issues.
