IPOH: A salesman has been charged in the magistrate court here today for being a World Cup bookie.
Tan Boon Chuan, 39, was accused of committing the offence on June 24 at the five foot way of Restoran Rahim, Taman Ipoh Jaya here at 4.15am for bets of RM72.
Tan was charged in front of magistrate Haslinda A. Raof under Section 6 (3) of the Betting Act 1953.
Haslinda later fixed Aug 26 for mention.
