The 66-year-old single mother said the contribution will lighten her financial burden for the Hari Raya.

“I am grateful to Tabung Haji for the aid,” she said.

Echoing her sentiment was Abu Osman Idris, 47, who said the RM500 aid was timely for those who will be celebrating Hari Raya.

Abu Osman said he would be using the money to buy groceries and baju raya for his five children.

“This money came in time for our preparation for Hari Raya,” he said.

Tabung Haji allocated RM1.7 million for more than 3,000 underprivileged people in the country.

Four hundred underprivileged people in the state received RM500 each from Tabung Haji chairman Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim at Dewan Tun Razak here recently.

Azeez said the distribution was part of Tabung Haji’s corporate social responsibility programme.

“We hope it will ease some of the families’ financial burden especially during Ramadan and Hari Raya,” he said.
