Malaysia-China on track to achieve US$160 billion bilateral trade target: PM

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia and China are on the right economic track by employing policies that are contributing to the achivement of the US$160 billion bilateral trade target.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said the target was set when both countries signed a Five Year Programme for Economic and Trade Cooperation.

"The fast growth of Malaysia-China economic relations would not have been possible without the hard work by the private sector.

"This can be seen from the respectable 6.3 per cent growth in the first half this year alone.

"Tap opportunities offered by expanding business and investments in China as well as encourage Chinese partners to explore new opportunities in Malaysia," said Najib before opening the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ACCIM) 68th anniversary celebration tonight.
