MH17: Family members, friends, public pay respects to Karamjit

SHAH ALAM: Family members, friends and well wishers have started to gather at the Nirvana Memorial Park crematorium in Shah Alam for the cremation ceremony of Karamjit Singh Karnail Singh.

Karamjit, 54, who was on board Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 and one of the 20 remains brought home this morning is expected to be cremated about 12.15pm today.

Karamjit's close family friend, Kulvinder Singh who was one of the first to arrive at the crematorium said the death of Karamjit was a loss to the youth of the community.

His sister, Harjit Kaur, 51, a teacher said Karamjit was a good son, father and husband that will always be remembered.

Nine personnel from the 11th Brigade Sungai Buloh army camp are escorting

the coffin into the crematorium.

A Kirtan (hymns) session will be held before the cremation ceremony.
