Khalid Samad claims trial to Selangor Sultan sedition charge

KUAA LUMPUR: Shah Alam member of Parliament Khalid Samad claimed trial at the Sessions Court over a sedition charge on remarks he made against Selangor Sultan in connection to the Selangor Islamic Religious Council (MAIS).

Khalid was charged with making the seditious statements in a press conference held at the Parliament lobby here at about 11.30am on June 17.

Deputy public prosecutor Suhaimi Ibrahim submitted for a RM5,000 bail in one surety.

Judge Azwarnida Affandi set bail at RM4,000 with one surety and fixed Sept 22 for mention.

Khalid was represented by counsel Hanipa Maidin.
