Hafiza gets ticket to World MotoGP

MALAYSIA’S rising Moto3 rider Muhammad Hafiza Rofa will be offered an opportunity to earn a wildcard ticket to the 17th round of the World MotoGP, the Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix in Sepang on Oct 24-26.

Sepang International Circuit (SIC) chief executive officer Datuk Razlan Razali said what Hafiza needs to do is produce good results in the races he is competing in.

“We do not want to guarantee him a wildcard ticket but currently, he is the rider with the best opportunity because of his capability. If Hafiza can maintain his consistency in the CEV Repsol Race in Spain, he will earn a ticket,” Razlan said.

Hafiza, 18, is competing in the FIM CEV Repsol 2014 under Team SIC Ajo.

Meanwhile, Razlan expressed concern with the performance of another Malaysian Moto3 rider Muhammad Zulfahmi Khairuddin who is representing Team Ongetta-AirAsia.

“His performance has dropped compared to other Malaysian riders taking part in the World Championship. It is disappointing because Zulfahmi is capable of doing better.” Bernama
