UiTM student hit by a lecturer's car dies

SHAH ALAM: A Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Shah Alam student died after she was hit by a lecturer's car in an accident at the campus here about 5.30pm.

Diploma in Sports Science and Recreation student Fatin Farah Farradia Yusof, 20, was walking with a friend near the Faculty of Dentistry when the car driven by the lecturer skidded and hit her.

According to a witness, Fatin was flung into the air upon impact and rolled down a hill nearby.

She was taken to the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital (HTAR) in Klang for treatment before she succumbed to severe internal injuries.

It is learnt the driver was also warded after suffering from shock due to the incident.

When contacted, Shah Alam police chief Assistant Commissioner Azisman Alias confirmed the incident.

A UiTM spokesman said the university has yet to receive a full report on the tragic accident.

However, the spokesman, who declined to be named said that UiTM would bring back Fatin Farah’s body back to her hometown in Dungun, Terengganu for burial.
