Youth carnival attracts thousands

ALOR STAR: THOUSANDS of youths attended the recent Karnival Orang Muda at Jubli Emas Park in Jalan Suka Menanti, here.

The activities included BMX stunt, skateboarding, BMX flatland, in-line skating, roller blade, wall climbing, skipping, netball and futsal.

There was also a blood donation campaign and an exhibition.

The two-day carnival organised by the Sultanah Bahiyah Foundation was launched by Kedah Netball Association president Kama Noriah Ibrahim, who is also Pedu assemblyman.

She said the event should be included in the state’s tourism activities as it would attract youths from Penang, Perlis and Perak.

She said the carnival was packed with activities that were attractive to youths, especially students who were on their school break.

She also launched the Gaza Fund for victims of Israeli aggression in Palestine.

Also present were Chief Private Secretary to the Sultan of Kedah Datuk Syed Unan Mashri Syed Abdullah and Sultanah Bahiyah Foundation board member Datuk Nasir Mustafa.
