Company directors fined for illegally storing diesel

KLANG: Three company directors were fined a total of RM135,000 at the Sessions Court for storing diesel more than the permitted amount seven months ago.

Sulaiman Mohd Dewa,49,Ong Chee Seng,30, and Teh Kok Kiang,41,as directors of Pandamaran Synergy Petroleum Sdn Bhd pleaded guilty to storing 154,102 litres of diesel worth RM308,204 when the permitted amount in the diesel wholesale licence is only 90,000 litres.

They were accused of committing the offence at the premises of Pandamaran Synergy Petroleum Sdn Bhd, Jalan Perusahaan, Pandamaran Industrial Area, Port Klang here at about 11.30am on March 5 this year.

They also faced a second charge of not maintaining records of all purchases and sales of diesel.

The trio were charged with committing the offence at the same place and time.

In mitigating, counsel S.Devanadan who represented them said his clients had children, siblings and parents to support. They are the sole breadwinners of their families.

"I plead for a minimum fine as they had also given their full cooperation in the investigation," he added.

Judge Surita Bidin then fined Sulaiman, Ong and Teh each RM25,000 for the first charge in default four months jail and RM20,000 for the second offence in default two months jail.

Meanwhile, their company, Pandamaran Synergy Petroleum Sdn Bhd was also charged with a similar offence at the same place and time.

Surita fined the company RM40,000 after finding the company guilty of the offence.

Deputy public prosecutor Shahrun Nizam Mohd Misan prosecuted.
