PETALING JAYA: The Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) will be organising the “Bestnya Malaysiaku” Wall Art Competition to give SS2 commercial centre a facelift.
Grand prize winner will walk away with RM3,000, while second and third prize winners will take home RM2,000 and RM1,000, respectively.
MBPJ councillor Lee Suet Sen said the event was one of the initiatives by the local council to revive the area.
“There are a total of 22 walls to be decorated in any form of art,” he said, adding that participants can use paint, spray and wall installation.
“To participate in the contest, they have to submit their proposal to http://bit.ly/bestnyamalaysiaku with details of their concepts, preferred wall, materials needed and budget,” he said, adding that the proposal need to be submitted before Oct 27.
“The art work must be completed in four weekends (eight days). Winners will be announced in December,” Lee added.
Damansara Utama assemblyman Yeo Bee Yin said she hoped local graffiti artists would take part in the contest as well.
