Short lived freedom for remanded man

TELUK INTAN: It was a short lived freedom for a remanded man who managed to escape from police after being treated at the Teluk Intan Hospital here.

The 33-year-old suspect, who was being held to assist an armed robbery case, was found an hour later hiding in the drain following the noon incident on Tuesday.

Hilir Perak district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain said the suspect was found by police, who rearrested him.

"He was returned to the district police's lock up after he was rearrested," he said when contacted here today.
