LEDANG: A fire sparked by an explosion damaged Rosnani Leman’s house in Kampung Sagil Parit 3 recently.
The incident not only destroyed her kitchen but also the wedding preparations of her youngest daughter who was getting married next month.
The explosion in the kitchen had set the house ablaze at around 5.50am last Sunday, just as Rosnani was about to finish preparing sweet cakes and kueh for sale at a college in Tangkak.
“I did not manage to salvage anything except for my and my husband’s MyKad.”
Rosnani, 55, said her husband Mohd Dom Abd Kadir, 61, a diabetic, was not well and could not help her save their belongings.
She said the damage caused by the fire was about RM60,000.
Meanwhile, Rosnani’s eldest daughter Norhapizah Khairani, 38, said although the family’s belongings were destroyed in the blaze she was grateful that her parents were safe. By Hai Rozzaman Jalal
