Weekend watch: Scream for Halloween

IF you don’t have any plans for the weekend, then just sit back and enjoy weekend TV programmes in the comfort of your home.

For fans of Hong Kong superstar Chow Yun Fat, tune in to ntv7 tomorrow to catch him in action in Fractured Follies. It tells of May who walks with a slight limp due to a birth defect — one leg is shorter than the other. One day, she meets with an accident, the taxi responsible is driven by Joe.

His insurance had expired two days before the accident, so he helps May repay her medical bills. Joe soon falls in love with May. Also featuring Joey Wang and James Wong, Fractured Follies airs at 3pm.

For fans of horror movies, catch 1996’s Scream featuring Drew Barrymore, Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette tomorrow on TV9 at 10.30pm.

Created by Kevin Williamson and Wes Craven, the movie opens with young Casey Becker getting phone calls from an unidentified caller. At first it seems as if the caller has punched a wrong number, but it soon becomes clear he is toying with her. Casey becomes frightened when she realises her caller can see her. She begins to panic when the caller threatens to kill her, and forces her to answer movie trivia in exchange for her life and that of her boyfriend, Steve, whom she sees tied up on her back patio.
