Media team to set a new record

KUANTAN: A GROUP of media practitioners from Pahang plan to set a new record by conquering Mount Fansipan and diving at Halong Bay in Vietnam from Nov 4 to Nov 11.

The Tengku Mahkota of Pahang, Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah gave the expedition team a state flag during a special luncheon here, recently.

They will place the Pahang state flag on the peak of the mountain and the seabed of Halong Bay.

Abdullah while Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s press
secretary, Datuk Akmar Hisham Mokhles, witnessed the
ceremony.

Tengku Abdullah lauded such activities as it encouraged participants to practise a healthy lifestyle.

“I hope the participants will undergo a thorough medical check-up to ensure they are fit to climb the highest mountain in Vietnam,” he said, adding that the participants should prioritise their safety during the climb.

Tengku Abdullah later presented appreciation letters to the sponsors of the expedition.

Among them are the Malaysia Crime Prevention Foundation Pahang branch, Tourism Pahang, Anih Bhd, DRB-Hicom Group, Tenaga Nasional Bhd and Impiana Hotel, Cherating.
