MALAYSIA claimed a second successive win at the World Cricket League Division Four in Singapore yesterday after beating Denmark by six wickets to top the standings.

Having lost to Denmark in five previous meetings since 1979, the national team set about their task by restricting the Danes to 171 for eight in a match reduced to 43 overs each due to rain at the Kallang Ground.

Suharril Fetri Shuib, Sheikh Nasir Shafiq and Shahrulnizam Yusof each picked up two wickets before captain Ahmad Faiz Mohammad Noor scored an unbeaten 68 to lead Malaysia to 173-4 in 38 overs.

Opener Anwar Arudin hit a brisk 36 off 39 balls before Faiz, who smashed seven boundaries, partnered Aminuddin Ramly (51 off 52 balls) to see Malaysia to victory and remain the only unbeaten team.

In other matches, Oman beat Jersey by seven wickets while Singapore, Malaysia's next opponents tomorrow, overcame Italy by nine wickets. By Devinder Singh
