KUALA LUMPUR: Two men aged 20 and 17 were burned to death in a fire at their family house in Jalan Besar Ulu bernam, Hulu Selangor, this morning.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department operations assistant director Mohd Sani Harul said the victims were among the 16 occupants who resided in the double-storey house.
“We received a distress call on the blaze at 3.58am and firemen from Tanjung Malim and Kuala Kubu Baru station were deployed to the scene.
“The two victims, identified as Muhamad Nur Arif and Muhamad Azuwanis Ghazali, were trapped at the second floor while the others managed to escape the fire,” he said, adding that other occupants, including a one-month-old newborn and 61-year-old man did not sustain any injuries.
Sani said the cause of fire and estimated loss are still being investigated
