UPSR result: 1,862 students obtain straight As in Sarawak

KUCHING: A total of 1,862 pupils or 4.41 percent out of 42,176 candidates from national schools (Sekolah Kerajaan) and government aided schools (Sekolah Bantuan Kerajaan) throughout Sarawak scored straight As in the Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) examination.

State Education Department director Serina Sauni said however there is a decrease in the number of candidates who scored straight As in every subjects this year compared to last year.

"In 2013, there were only 1,916 candidates or 4.49percent obtained all As which sees a 0.08 percent decrease."

"However, the State Percentage Grade (GPN) this year is similar to last year, which is 2.52," said Serina at the Ujian Peperiksaan Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) result announcement at the state Education Department headquarters today.
