COLOMBO (Sri Lanka): Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor arrived here today, for a two-day visit to attend an autism symposium tomorrow.
The aircraft carrying the Malaysian prime minister’s wife touched down at the Bandaranaike International Airport at 11.15am local time (about 1.45pm Malaysian time).
Rosmah, who is Patron of the Permata Programme for Early Childhood Education, is scheduled to deliver a speech at the Symposium on Minimising the Gaps of Service Delivery for Autism in Sri Lanka’ tomorrow.
She is expected to share Permata’s views and experience, as well as challenges in providing assistance for autistic children in Malaysia.
Permata is currently setting up the ‘Permata Kurnia Centre’ in Kuala Lumpur which will focus on alternative approaches and methods in early intervention for autistic children, aged between two and six.
Shortly after the symposium, Rosmah will visit the paediatric ward and rehabilitation unit at the Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children here in the capital city.
The hospital also provides treatment for more than 1,000 registered autistic patients.
Later in the evening, Rosmah is scheduled to attend the Carlton Pre-School annual concert as honoured guest.
The concert will be attended by Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa and First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa, who is founder and patron of the Carlton Pre-School. - BERNAMA
