KUALA TERENGGANU: The flood situation Kemaman and Dungun worsened as more than 900 victims were evacuated this morning, following continuous rain last night.
A check on the State Welfare department showed Dungun recording the highest numbers of evacuees with 2,242 people from 604 families at 18 centres.
Kemaman recorded 1,466 victims from 373 families evacuated to 17 relief centres while in Kuala Terengganu 893 people from 216 families seeking shelter at five centres.
In Besut, 319 people from 73 families were evacuated to three relief centres while in Hulu Terengganu remained with three centres with 211 victims from 64 families.
36 people from 12 families were place at a relief centre in Marang, while in Setiu 22 people from seven families remained at two relief centres.
