PASIR PUTEH: Two flood relief centres were opened in Pasir Puteh today making it the first district in Kelantan affected by the floods.
The first day of the floods also saw a total of 72 victims evacuated.
According to the Social Welfare Department's infoBencana portal, the victims who are from 17 families, are now taking shelter at the two centres, namely SK Dalam Rhu and SK Wakaf Raja.
As at 3.30pm, 40 victims were evacuated to SK Dalam Rhu while the rest have been moved to SK Wakaf Raja.
They comprised 42 women and 30 men.
The portal also stated that two of the rivers in Kelantan measured above their alert levels while the rest were still at the normal marks.
The two rivers are the Kelantan river in Kota Baru and Semerak river in Bachok.
Non-stop heavy rains have hit the state since Sunday and are expected to last until tomorrow.
