KUALA TERENGGANU: The high tides in several parts of Terengganu last night has forced more than 11,000 people from 86 families to be evacuated.
As at 7am, 11,489 evacuees have been moved with the bulk of them from Kemaman (5,293) seeking shelter at 33 centres.
This was followed by Kuala Terengganu with 2,732 at eight centres while Dungun opened 19 centres to house 2,205 victims.
Meanwhile, in Hulu Terengganu, 686 victims were at 14 centres while 102 people remained at two centres in Marang districts.
In Besut, 449 people moved to eight centres while Setiu had two centres with 77 evacuees.
Yesterday, only 5,952 people were at 63 centres throughout the state.
