Press lensmen raise funds for single mum

GEORGE TOWN: THE Malaysian Press Photographers Association used their talents for a good cause during their participation in the recent Pinang Orient Bike Fest 2014 which took place in Padang Kota, here, recently.

Association members, using their eye for composition, offered visitors a fee of RM5 for pictures to be taken with high-powered machines that were brought especially to the fest and sponsored by TM69RT team director Rezal Hadi Yahya as well as Kawasaki Motors (Malaysia) Bhd.

The fees collected were channelled to single mother Roziyana Md Amin, 36, who has been bedridden following a road accident.

Association exco member Izham Jaafar said Roziyana needs close to RM2,000 monthly for medical treatment.

“On top of that, she is also raising her two sons, aged 13 and 15. We want to ease Roziyana’s burden as the boys are still schooling.

“Since our association members had come all the way here to take part in this fest, we figured we should raise the funds for Roziyana.”

He said apart from carrying out charity works, association members shared photography tips with aspiring shutterbugs, including SPM leavers.

Izham added that their booth was a good platform as it exposes the youth to information on pursuing the field in tertiary education.
