GEORGE TOWN: The Penang Buddhist Association today donated RM15,000 to the NSTP-Media Prima Disaster Fund.
The mock cheque was presented by association president Datuk Seri Khoo Keat Siew to New Straits Times representative Melissa Darlyne Chow.
The presentation ceremony was held on the sidelines of four special occasions at the premises today, namely the soft launch of the association's 90th anniversary, the soft launch of the Brahma Vihara Hall, the blessing of the ongoing construction of the proposed Father Sumangalo Memorial Hall as well as the Annual Maha Sanghikadana of the Theravada tradition.
Over 500 devotees gathered at the annual charity event, with 110 Theravada monks present.
