RM468mil allocated for allowances of Imam, religious school teachers

ALOR STAR: The Government, through the Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim), has allocated RM468 million this year to pay for the allowances of religious teachers, imams and district mosque administration coordinators throughout the country.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom said religious teachers and mosque administration coordinators played important roles in propagating Islam in this country.

“The government sees the roles played by KAFA teachers, imams, Takmir teachers and mosque committees in propagating Islam,” he said during the official launch of the Kedah State Imam, Takmir teachers, KAFA teachers and Mosque Committee conference today.
