Young professional urged to plan asset management early

KUALA LUMPUR: Young professionals must be more proactive in planning the management of inherited property, especially on the issue of dealing with the problems of division of property among the next-of-kin, if anything untowards should happen, said Wasiyyah Shoppe Sdn Bhd Chief Executive Officer Azrin Sabirin.

He said Malaysian society often assumed that only the elderly needed to make plans about their assets.

“This is proven when 70 per cent of the 36,000 clients of Wasiyyah Shoppe comprise of those who are 55 years and above.

“The reality is that the young also have property and if deaths occur among the propertied young, their next-of-kin will be more affected,” he said in a statement today.

Azrin added in Wasiyyah Shoppe’s own experience, for those who who were quite elderly, their next-of-kin would face the challenges of undergoing the legal process and seeking consensus among them.

In the meantime, Wasiyyah Shoppe also expressed appreciation to the country’s first astronaut Datuk Dr Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor on his willingness to be the ambassador and spokesman for Wasiyyah Shoppe, an expert in planning and management of Muslim inherited property in the country. – BERNAMA
