BREAKING NEWS: All six bodies of helicopter crash found, to be sent to HKL for identification: Zahid

KUALA LUMPUR: Fire and Rescue Department has found all six bodies of the ill-fated helicopter crash at Jalan Sungai Lalang, Kampung Pasir Baru, Semenyih near here.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi said it will take another hour for the rescue personnel to retrieve the bodies out of the crash site.

All the bodies will be taken to HKL for identification, he said in a press conference at the crash site.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak is also expected to go the crash site.

The helicopter, which was flying to Subang from Kuantan, crashed at 4.55pm today.

It was believed that the helicopter exploded mid-air before it crashed to the ground.

Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein confirmed Rompin Member of Parliament Tan Sri Dr Jamaludin Jarjis was one of the passengers on board the helicopter.

Meanwhile, Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai when contacted by Bernama said besides Jamaludin, Principal Private Secretary to Prime Minister Datuk Azlin Alias was also among the passengers in the helicopter.

He based it on initial information from the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA. Their names were in the list of passengers of the helicopter.

"Based on the information I received from the DCA, their names are indeed in the list, but we have to double check after the post mortem," he said.

There has yet to be official confirmation on the identities of the passengers and crew of the helicopter.
