British woman lost in Sepilok forest found safe

SANDAKAN: A British woman who got lost in the Sepilok Forest near here has been found safe.

Sandakan Fire and Rescue chief Haikal Jammy Ngali Abdullah said the 50-year-old woman identified only as Sally was located at 11.40pm yesterday by a team comprising police and civil defence personnel.

He said before she went missing, the woman had been involved in bird-watching activities at the Rainforest Discovery Centre (RDC) there.

After going on a trek, she failed to find her way back to the RDC, he told Bernama.

He added that his department was alerted about her missing at 8.20pm. – BERNAMA
