BMW lowers vehicle prices

KUALA LUMPUR: German premium automaker, BMW Malaysia Sdn Bhd, is revising the prices of all its BMW and MINI vehicles lower by up to 1.9 per cent.

The BMW Motorrad will be lower by up to 18 per cent.

In a statement today, the premium automaker said the revision was to transfer the benefits gained from the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) to customers.

The company delivered 1,729 BMW, MINI and Motorrad vehicles in the first quarter of 2015.

"This performance is in tandem with what we have observed in the Malaysian auto industry due to over speculation on pricing post-GST," said managing director and chief executive officer, Alan Harris.

He was speaking at the launch of the BMW World Malaysia here today.

BMW World Malaysia is a three-day exhibition featuring six new vehicles from the BMW Group brands, namely BMW, MINI and BMW Motorrad, as well as experiential landmark concept vehicles for the first time in Asia.

Open to the public from April 17-19, the BMW World Malaysia will feature the largest display of premium automobiles, represented by the BMW Group, including the introduction of the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer, BMW X6, BMWi and BMWi8.

It will be held at the Bukit Kiara Equestrian and Country Resort here. -- BERNAMA
