Bank employee brutally slashed, stabbed by security guard

JOHOR BARU: A 33-year-old bank employee was killed after he was brutally slashed and stabbed by a security guard in Taman Molek here today.

The 3.30pm incident also saw a female bank employee injured after she was slashed by the security guard.

The security guard, who is in his 40s, did not flee the scene and was found by a police patrol team on the first floor of the bank.

Seri Alam police chief Superintendent Abdul Samad Salleh said police arrived at 3.50pm after receiving a distress call on a man running amok.

"The male victim was already dead when police arrived.

"Police arrested the suspect and sent the female victim for treatment, while the deceased remains were sent for a post-mortem," he said when met outside the bank.

Samad said police have seized the knife which is believed to have been used as the murder weapon from the suspect.

"We are still in the midst of investigations and the motive for the attack," he said, adding that police have classified the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
