KLCC all set for Asean Summit, says Anifah

KUALA LUMPUR: The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) is now ready to welcome delegations of the 26th ASEAN Summit scheduled to arrive this Friday.

Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman said preparations of the venue including facilities for the scheduled meetings were now under its ‘final touch’.

“With the cooperation of all parties, including preparations by the protocol officers and ministries involved, everything will run smoothly as planned,” he said when inspecting preparations for the 26th ASEAN Summit at KLCC here today.

He said the management of the Summit’s official venue here (KLCC) also had fully understood what his ministry needed for the 26th ASEAN Summit.

Malaysia hosts the summit in her capacity as chairman of ASEAN this year, which comes as an important year for the regional bloc that aimed to establish the ASEAN Community before year’s end.

Themed, ‘Our People, Our Community, Our Vision’, Malaysia’s vision throughout the chairmanship is the creation of a ‘people-oriented ASEAN’ involving all sectors of society in the grouping’s activities.--BERNAMA
