Permatang Pauh candidate picked with a fine tooth comb: DPM

BUKIT MERTAJAM: The BN candidate for Permatang Pauh was selected with a fine tooth comb, to ensure a clean background, party deputy chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said.

Muhyiddin, who is also Deputy Prime Minister, said the selection of quantity surveyor Suhaimi Sabudin was made in a thorough selection process involving opinions from the electorate and BN component parties.

"The candidate has the full backing of the Penang BN component parties," he said in a press conference announcing Suhaimi's candidacy at Bandar Perda here today,

On a different note, Muhyiddin said BN took note of the ongoing squabble between allies in Pakatan Rakyat.

"We know that the people of Permatang Pauh are getting fed up over the ongoing bickering between PKR, DAP and Pas.

"Our game plan is to focus to capture the hearts and minds of the people of Permatang Pauh.

"It is time for Permatang Pauh to change. With BN, there will be better development and overall improvement in standards of life," he said.

Earlier, 44-year-old Suhaimi was introduced to a crowd of 1,000 at the Permatang Pauh BN election machinery headquarters.

Suhaimi is Permatang Pauh Umno secretary and member of the Guar Jering Umno branch.

He graduated from Universiti Sains Malaysia with a degree in Project Management in 1997.

He is married with four children and is currently the managing director of SF Sepadu Sdn Bhd.
