2 killed, 2 injured in four-vehicle pileup

KUALA LUMPUR: Two people were killed while two others including a five-year-old boy was injured in an accident involving four vehicles pile-up near Jalan Pahang roundabout earlier today.

Kuala Lumpur Traffic Police investigation and traffic law officer Deputy Superintendent S. Markandan said initial investigation revealed an 18-year-old teenager traveling in a Proton Wira from Setapak had lost control of his car in the 1.15am incident.

“The driver crashed into the road divider on the right side of the road before ramming into a Nissan Grand Livina, and also a Perodua Myvi which was on the right lane.

“The impact had caused the Nissan Grand Livina to swerve to the left and was hit by a lorry,” he said.

In the incident, said Mark, the driver of Nissan Grand Livina, identified as Kok Yik Hong, 35, and his family member Sam Ah Mooi, 60 were killed while two other passengers aged 36 and a 5-year-old boy was critically injured.

The driver and passengers of Proton Wira sustained minor injuries in the incident.

The bodies and all injured victims were sent to Kuala Lumpur Hospital for further action.
