KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and his wife filed a libel suit against Taiping Member of Parliament Nga Kor Ming over a Facebook posting.
Najib and Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor's legal firm Messrs Hafarizam Wan & Aisha Mubarak filed the legal action on June 11 at the High Court Registry here.
The two plaintiffs claimed Nga uploaded a picture with a defamatory caption on the defendant's Facebook page on March 29, which they claimed put them into public scandal among others.
The couple seeks general, aggravated, and exemplary damages, and an injunction to restrain Nga from publishing further defamatory words.
Both also seek a written apology to be published in newspapers and magazines chosen by them, costs and any other relief deemed fit by the court.
