Rosly Hassan appointed Putrajaya new police chief

PUTRAJAYA: The administrative capital welcomed its new OCPD, as acting Asst Comm Rosly Hassan takes over from acting Senior Asst Comm Abdul Razak Abdul Majid, here, today.

Abdul Razak is transferred to the Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department at the Kuala Lumpur Police Headquarters.

“Overall the crime rate in Putrajaya is fairly low with about five to seven break-ins and eight to 12 stolen motorcycles incidents are reported in a month,” he said,

He added the community should also play a role in ensuring safety and security of their properties.

The handing over of duties was witnessed by Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Tajuddin Md Isa , who praised Abdul Razak for his service in the high profiled area of Putrajaya.

Rosly, who comes with 33 years of experience in the police force, will be focusing on crime prevention and community service, as these are his areas of expertise.

The 53-year-old has a Masters in Enforcement Law and a Law degree to his credit.

Rosly was formerly the Deputy Officer-in-charge of Criminal Investigations in Pahang and served in Negri Sembilan, Johor and Kuala Lumpur previously.

“I think the challenge here would be handling all the high profiled officials and people, who often rub shoulders with each other, here in Putrajaya," he said
