ALOR STAR: Strong winds and heavy rain resulted in trees being uprooted and falling along several roads here today.
In the first incident on Lebuhraya Darulaman about 1.20pm, a man in his 30s and a seven-year-old narrowly escaped when a tree fell on the black Kenari they were in.
In the second incident along Jalan Susuran Tuanku Haminah, a Myanmar national who was riding a motorcycle sustained minor injuries when a tree fell.
Fire and Rescue Department personnel who arrived at the scene managed to pull the victims out in time.
